Deputy speaker rebukes two ministers for talking during MP’s speech

Deputy Speaker Kayser Kamal visibly lost patience when two ministers held a side conversation as an MP addressed Bangladesh’s parliament.

Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad and State Minister for Local Government Mir Shahe Alam were standing and talking while BNP MP Selina Sultana spoke during a discussion on an emergency public importance cancellation notice.

Sultana had begun discussing the misuse of religion when the conversation drew Kamal’s attention. “Honourable Religious Affairs Minister and Honourable LGRD State Minister, please sit down and speak quietly. Someone behind you is delivering a speech,” he said.

When the ministers continued talking, the deputy speaker repeated the warning and asked them to lower their voices so that Sultana’s speech could be heard clearly.
