Despite 12 weeks of falling prices, gasoline and diesel remain above 1,800 won

South Korean gas stations are experiencing a sustained decline in fuel prices, with averages dropping for 12 consecutive weeks. However, the cost of gasoline and diesel remains stubbornly high, hovering above the 1,800 won per liter mark.

According to data from the Korea National Oil Corporation's price information system, Opinet, the average price for gasoline at stations across the country stood at 1,866.2 won per liter during the first week of August. This figure reflects a slight decrease of 2.9 won per liter compared to the preceding week.

Similarly, the average price for diesel fuel was recorded at 1,849.2 won per liter. This represents a decrease of 3.6 won per liter from the previous week. Despite these ongoing reductions, the prices continue to be a significant concern for consumers navigating the current economic landscape.
