Detained Çankaya Mayor Hüseyin Can Güner has voiced his grievances from custody, asserting that the accusations against him are false. In a message shared with citizens during aşure events by acting Mayor Haldun Güler, Güner declared his "crimes" consist of being Republican, democratic, and patriotic, and serving the Çankaya district established by Atatürk.

Güner vehemently denied the "ugly claims" leveled against him, stating they do not reflect reality. He further elaborated on his alleged offenses, saying, "We have another crime; protecting Çankaya's rights and budget, preventing it from making at least 5 million lira more in payments each month."
