Dhea Natasya: Indonesian Female Surfer Shares Her Journey and Healthy Habits

Indonesian surfer Dhea Natasya has shared her journey in a male-dominated sport, recounting how early skepticism from friends about her appearance, long blonde hair and tanned skin from the sun and sea, did not deter her passion for surfing. "But because Dhea liked it, Dhea just continued, and her friends at the beach supported Dhea too," she explained.

Natasya found motivation in a noticeable absence of Indonesian women in surfing competitions. This gap presented an opportunity, encouraging her to enter longboard surfing events. Her experience has fueled a desire to support other aspiring female surfers. "So if there are women who are new to surfing, we definitely invite them, let's surf. We help, sometimes Dhea likes to push them on the waves," she said, describing how she assists beginners learning to navigate the water.

Maintaining peak physical condition is crucial for Natasya's demanding sport. She highlights the importance of a healthy diet, particularly mentioning yogurt as a regular part of her breakfast routine. "So every morning before Dhea goes surfing, Dhea eats cut fruit from Bunda which is then poured with Yummy yogurt. Dhea likes the blueberry and peach flavors best," she shared during a media gathering in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
