DHQ Raises Alarm as Hackers Compromise Its X Account

Nigeria's Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has issued a public alert regarding a security breach of its official X account. The military is actively working to regain control of the platform, which it described as compromised.

In a statement released by the Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, the DHQ confirmed the incident is being handled as a cybersecurity issue. "Appropriate technical measures have been activated to secure the account and prevent further unauthorized access," the statement read.

The DHQ urged the public to exercise caution and disregard any suspicious, unauthorized, or misleading content that might be disseminated from the account during this period. The military assured citizens of its commitment to maintaining high information security standards and providing accurate, timely, and credible updates on its operations.
