Police recover hand grenade from drainage slab in Maiduguri

The Borno State Police Command has successfully recovered a hand grenade, identified as an unexploded ordnance (UXO), from a drainage slab in the Moduganari area of Maiduguri.

The discovery was made on August 15, 2026, after the police received a report regarding a suspected UXO. Operatives from the EOD-CBRN Base 13, Maiduguri, were promptly dispatched to the scene under the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid.
