Dinamo faces tight transfer deadline to boost budget after Champions League exit

Dinamo Zagreb is under intense pressure to sell players before the European transfer window slams shut, aiming to fill a significant budget gap left by their failure to qualify for the Champions League. The club is reportedly short around 15 million euros, and with transfer deadlines looming in major leagues like Germany, England, France, Italy, and Spain by the end of August, time is rapidly running out.

The missed opportunity to enter the lucrative Champions League has placed Dinamo in a weaker negotiating position. Clubs interested in their players are aware of the financial urgency, allowing them to potentially dictate terms. Had Dinamo advanced, as many expected after reaching the playoff stage, they would have held considerably more leverage.

Several players are being considered for sale. While discussions about Dominguez's potential departure have been ongoing, his previous rejection of an 11 million euro offer from Lazio might be reconsidered. For Luka Stojković and Dion Drena Beljo, Dinamo initially stated they were not for sale, though significant, 'immoral' offers could change that stance. Both players are reportedly not pushing for an immediate exit.

Beyond player sales, Dinamo also faces a pressing need to strengthen its squad, particularly in the goalkeeper position. The club missed out on Dominik Livaković, and while Kotarski is mentioned, transfer fees remain a hurdle. Recent arrivals like Oršić and Radeljić have not yet secured starting roles, and the team is still integrating younger players and those returning from injury. Performances in the Europa League against teams like Thun and Viking have highlighted that the current squad may not be sufficient for strong European competition.
