Dinamo Moves Young Talent Varela to B Team for Development

Dinamo Zagreb has transferred its promising 17-year-old Portuguese winger, Cardoso Varela, to the club's B team. Varela, who had recently featured for the senior squad, will now aim to gain experience and develop his skills through matches in the First NL league.

Varela had attracted attention with strong performances, including in European games, a notable achievement for a player his age. However, after an initial rise, his playing time decreased, and he was no longer consistently included in the first team's matchday squads. He has played a total of 25 games for Dinamo, scoring two goals and assisting one, accumulating 726 minutes on the field. His contract with the club runs until 2028, and his market value is estimated at one million euros by Transfermarkt.

The club believes Varela will benefit from development under the guidance of former player Jerko Leko, who now manages the B team. This move signifies a strategic decision to ensure the young talent continues his progression within the club's structure.
