Dinamo Zagreb Signs Bosnian International Defender Stjepan Radeljić

Dinamo Zagreb has bolstered its defense by signing Stjepan Radeljić, a key player for the Bosnian and Herzegovinian national team. The club announced the acquisition of the 28-year-old center-back, who joins as a free agent after his contract with Croatian club Rijeka concluded.

Radeljić was a target for Dinamo last summer, but a deal could not be reached due to financial terms with Rijeka. This time, the Zagreb club secured his signature despite competing interest from English club Hull City and Czech side Slovan. The club welcomed Radeljić with a video message, acknowledging his upcoming participation in the World Cup with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Considered one of the most reliable defenders in the league during his time at Rijeka, Radeljić brings a robust presence to Dinamo's backline. His market value is estimated at nearly three million euros. He has previously played for Sheriff Tiraspol, Osijek, and Stuttgart's youth academy. Radeljić has also represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the senior international level, notably appearing in the World Cup.

Since joining Rijeka in the summer of 2023, Radeljić has been a consistent performer, making 39 appearances with one goal and four assists in his last season. Throughout his senior career, he has accumulated 115 matches, scoring six goals and providing as many assists. His experience extends to European competitions, having played in the group stages of all three major club tournaments: the Champions League with Sheriff, the Europa League as captain, and the Conference League with Rijeka.

Radeljić's career path includes youth stints at Zrinjski Mostar, where he captained the junior team to a championship title, and two years with Stuttgart's U21 squad. He also had spells with NK Široki Brijeg and Osijek before his successful periods in Moldova and Croatia. He was named the best defender in the Moldovan league in 2022 and won the Croatian league and cup double with Rijeka in 2025.
