Director of Serbia's Republic Geodetic Authority dismissed before term ends

Borko Drašković has been dismissed as the director of Serbia's Republic Geodetic Authority (RGZ), a position he held for 11 years. The Serbian government made the decision during a session, removing him before the end of his mandate.

According to official asset declarations, Drašković's monthly salary has risen by over 160,000 dinars since July 2015. During his tenure, he acquired a four-room apartment financed by a loan. His current monthly salary is reported as 315,942.09 dinars, a significant increase from the 155,142.90 dinars he earned when he first took on the role of acting director in July 2015.

Drašković told N1 that he had not yet officially received confirmation of his dismissal but had heard the news unofficially. He described such events as "normal processes" and declined further comment. Recently, the RGZ has been publicly engaged in disputes with Milan Stamatović, the president of the Čajetina municipality, regarding land in Zlatibor.

Although Drašković was reappointed for a five-year term starting December 9, 2022, his dismissal means he has been removed prematurely. His asset declaration from May of this year lists a 130-square-meter house, a 72-square-meter auxiliary building, and a 1,100-square-meter vineyard, all acquired through gift agreements. He also owns a 36-square-meter commercial space purchased, a 51-square-meter two-room apartment inherited (in co-ownership), and the aforementioned four-room apartment and two garage spaces acquired through loans. His assets from 2013, when he was assistant director at the Ministry of Transport, show a similar property portfolio.
