Disabled Beggar Dies After Robbery Attack in Kishoreganj

A 52-year-old physically disabled beggar, Habul Mia, died on Monday after a brutal attack outside his home in Tarail, Kishoreganj, where assailants robbed him of his money. The incident occurred around 2:45 AM when unidentified individuals struck Mia on the head with a wooden stick before fleeing the scene.

Unable to call for help due to his speech impairment and physical disability, Mia's groans alerted neighbors. They discovered him critically injured and transported him to the Tarail Upazila Health Complex. His condition worsened, leading to a referral to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead around 2:00 PM.

Habul Mia, who relied on a wheelchair, had been begging at the Tarail CNG station to support his wife, two daughters, and son, who reside in Dhaka. His cousin, Alamgir Hossain, stated that the attack was motivated by robbery and that the investigation must uncover the full motive.

Hossain has filed a murder case at the Tarail Police Station against two to three unidentified suspects. Inspector Sheikh Abu Saleh Masud of Tarail Police Station confirmed that the case is being investigated seriously.
