Disappointed Danish hammer thrower: 'I have more in me'

Danish hammer thrower Katrine Koch Jacobsen is disappointed with her performance at the European Championships, where she failed to secure a medal or even a top-eight finish. Jacobsen, who had a promising start in the qualifying round with the longest throw of all competitors at 72.62 meters, could only manage 68.70 meters in the final.

The 27-year-old athlete struggled to pinpoint the exact reason for her performance dip during the final. "It wasn't my day. I had thought that the competition would be tough, and there are some really good athletes. But when I look at the results, I am naturally upset that I couldn't compete," she told DR Sporten. Jacobsen felt that she was close to her best but that "something technical today just isn't working."

Despite the setback, Jacobsen's qualifying throw would have placed her fourth in the final. Her Danish record stands at 75.52 meters. The European Athletics Championships continue on Thursday with javelin thrower Arthur Wiborg Pedersen competing.
