Dismissed CHP Zonguldak Provincial Chairman Reacts to Nullity Decision

CHP Zonguldak Provincial Chairman Devrim Dural and other party officials have been dismissed from their positions. Dural, along with the center district chairman and provincial disciplinary board, declared they do not recognize the decision. He framed the dismissal as an "honor medal" for his commitment to making the Republican People's Party (CHP) the leading party in Zonguldak and reclaiming the provincial municipality.

He added that if he was penalized for fulfilling his promise to make the party number one in Zonguldak and win back the municipality, then so be it. He dismissed the appointed replacements as insignificant.

I had said when I became a candidate that we would make this party the number one party in Zonguldak and take back the provincial municipality. I kept my word, and this was the penalty.

Nazmi Özden, the CHP Zonguldak Center District Chairman, also viewed their dismissal as an "honor." He compared it to the "decorations and criminal record" received on September 12 (referring to the 1980 military coup) and stated this "second decoration" from the "nullity administration" would be carried with honor for life.

Zonguldak Mayor Tahsin Erdem reacted to the dismissal, emphasizing the legitimacy of elected officials. He questioned the purpose of purging elected individuals who brought the party to first place after 47 years. Erdem asserted that his legitimate interlocutor as an elected mayor is the elected provincial chairman, Devrim Dural, and his general chairman is Özgür Özel.
