Diverse Crowds Celebrate at Padang Besar Night Run

The Padang Besar night run transformed the town into a vibrant hub as over 900 participants from various ethnic groups and five nations gathered for the event. Held under the stars, the run was a key component of the Padang Besar Festival 2026, organized by the Putra Trail Running Club.

The 22-kilometer route took runners through the town of Padang Besar, Chuping Valley, Felda Rimba Emas, and Kampung Kok Mak. Adding to the festive atmosphere, participants were treated to a display of cultural performances, including lion dances, traditional Malay music, and Indian folk dances, presented near the Padang Besar roundabout.

Ku Hasrin Ku Abdul Rahman, Director of the Padang Besar Festival, congratulated all participants for their sporting spirit. He expressed hope that the Northernmost Padang Besar Night Run will continue to grow as a prominent recreational sports event in northern Malaysia. The festival aims to encourage healthy living and strengthen relationships among the diverse communities in the region.
