Dodgers May Trade Top Prospect De Paula for Championship Push

The Los Angeles Dodgers, determined to secure a third consecutive World Series championship, may be willing to part with their top prospect, outfielder Josue De Paula, according to MLB.com.

De Paula, 21, is currently ranked as the eighth-best prospect in MLB Pipeline's top 100 and is considered the crown jewel of the Dodgers' farm system. This season in Double-A, he has posted impressive numbers with a .319 batting average, .420 on-base percentage, and a .551 slugging percentage, resulting in a .971 OPS. He has also hit 10 home runs, driven in 53 runs, and stolen 16 bases.

Sonja Chen, the MLB.com reporter covering the Dodgers, noted that the team's outfield depth is considerable. While trading De Paula would be surprising, his value represents a significant asset. Chen suggested that other highly-rated outfield prospects, such as Zyhir Hope, Eduardo Quintero, and Mike Sirota, could form the core of trade packages if the Dodgers decide to make a major acquisition to bolster their roster for a championship run.
