Dodig Exits Hamburg Challenger Semis, but Croatian Tennis Secures Doubles Title

Croatian tennis player Matej Dodig was eliminated in the semifinals of the ATP Challenger 75 tournament in Hamburg. The 21-year-old, ranked 251st, fell to Germany's Marvin Moeller, ranked 327th, with a score of 6-2, 6-4 in an 87-minute match.

Dodig struggled at the start of the match, losing his serve twice and allowing Moeller to take a commanding lead in the first set. Although Dodig showed more competitive play in the second set, including a break point opportunity, Moeller secured a crucial break in the ninth game and closed out the match in the following game.

Moeller will now compete for the title against 19-year-old Czech player Jan Kumstat. This marks Dodig's fourth Challenger Tour semifinal appearance this year, with his only final reaching so far being in Trieste.

Despite Dodig's singles defeat, Croatian tennis achieved success in Hamburg as Admir Kalender and Nino Serdarušić claimed the doubles title. This victory marks their second consecutive title in two weeks and their third in the last two months on the Challenger Tour. They defeated German pair Niel Moeller and Jannik Opitz 6-3, 6-4 in the doubles final.
