Dog owner warns of repeated attacks in Zagreb neighborhood

A resident of Zagreb's Špansko neighborhood has voiced serious concerns over a dog named Bela, which she claims is repeatedly unleashed and attacks other leashed dogs. The owner described the incidents as "shaking" and expressed anxiety about walking her own pet, fearing for her safety and that of her animal.

If this situation repeats, I will be forced to report the case to the municipal authorities, inform the relevant animal protection associations, and take all other legally provided steps.

She recounted a recent attack, stating that her dog, like others, should not have to endure such aggression. The resident highlighted the emotional toll, including fear, stress, and a sense of insecurity, that these encounters have caused. A particular worry is the potential danger to children, noting that while her own children were not present during the latest incident, they might not be so lucky next time.

After reporting the incident to the police, she felt the situation was not taken seriously. She is now calling on Bela's owner to take responsibility and control the dog. The resident warned that she will escalate the matter to municipal authorities and animal welfare organizations if the attacks continue, emphasizing that rules for dog owners should apply universally. She stressed that her intention is not anger, but deep concern for the community's safety.
