Dokter Tifa Attends First Hearing in Jokowi Diploma Defamation Case

Dokter Tifa arrived at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday, July 2, 2026, to face the initial hearing of a defamation case concerning accusations of a fake diploma belonging to President Joko Widodo. She was accompanied by her legal team, the "Tim Pembela Dokter Tifa," dressed in black suits with "TPDT" on their pockets, while Tifa wore black with a pink hijab. Supporters, including middle-aged women in hijabs, greeted her arrival.

Before entering the courtroom, Dokter Tifa addressed reporters, stating her confidence in facing the trial with the support of 25 experienced lawyers. Her defense team includes the "Tim Pembela Dokter Tifa," who have supported her for about a year, and eight lawyers from Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Muhammadiyah. This strong legal backing fuels her optimism for the proceedings.

The case initially saw eight individuals named as suspects by the Polda Metro Jaya, including Roy Suryo, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, Tifauziah Tyassuma (Dokter Tifa), Eggi Sudjana, Kurnia Tri Rohyani, Damai Hari Lubis, Rustam Effendi, and Muhammad Rizal Fadillah. These suspects were divided into two groups, facing charges under the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) and the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (UU ITE).

However, the police later issued a halt to the investigation (SP3) for Eggi Sudjana, Damai Hari Lubis, and Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar after they met with President Jokowi in Solo. Meanwhile, Roy Suryo is pursuing legal recourse through a pre-trial motion, with a decision expected on July 7, 2026.
