Dokter Tifa Hospitalized Amid High Stress, GERD Relapse

JAKARTA – Dokter Tifa, a suspect in a defamation case concerning President Joko Widodo's diploma authenticity, was admitted to the Police Hospital in Kramat Jati on Friday night. Her illness, a relapse of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), was attributed to high stress and fatigue.

Her lawyer, Refly Harun, explained that GERD is a pre-existing condition for Dokter Tifa, which flared up after she had not eaten all day and faced significant mental strain. The situation was compounded by exhaustion from her activities. Following an examination at the emergency department, she required a wheelchair.

Despite her condition, Dokter Tifa proceeded with her dissertation seminar defense via Zoom, though under considerable pressure. After completing her agenda, medical professionals decided she needed hospitalization for further monitoring. Harun did not provide specific details about the condition of Roy Suryo, another suspect in the same case, describing his ailment as common and not specific.

Both Roy Suryo and Dokter Tifa remained under hospital care on Friday night, awaiting updates on their health. They were brought to the emergency room under police escort after their medical examinations. Roy Suryo arrived in casual attire, acknowledging the situation with a clenched fist, while Dokter Tifa wore an orange detainee vest.
