Dominican Republic wins gold in team kata at Central American Games

The Dominican Republic has clinched another gold medal at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026. The national team, composed of María Dimitrova, Belén Guzmán, Perla Peralta, and Carla Espejo, triumphed in the women's team kata event.

Competing in the Combat Pavilion 1 of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, the Dominican quartet showcased exceptional synchronization, precision, and flawless execution of the 'papuren' technique. Their performance was enough to overcome the Venezuelan team and secure the top spot on the podium, much to the delight of the home crowd.
