Don’t misappropriate public funds, Bauchi gov warns new LG chairmen

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has issued a stern warning to the newly inaugurated local government chairmen, cautioning them against the misappropriation of public funds. During the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Mohammed emphasized the critical need for transparency and accountability in managing the resources entrusted to them.

"You must ensure that public funds are used judiciously for the development of your areas and the betterment of the people," Mohammed stated, underscoring that any diversion of funds would not be tolerated. He urged the chairmen to remain focused on their mandate, which is to serve the public and address the needs of their constituents.

The governor's directive comes as a measure to ensure good governance at the grassroots level and prevent the recurrence of financial mismanagement.
