Lithuanian singer Donatas Balvočius, known for his work with the group "Grupė 2," will be stepping outside his usual comfort zone to perform in a duet with long-haul truck driver Greta Bulovaitė on the upcoming season of "Žvaigždžių duetai. Nauja era" (Star Duets. New Era). The announcement has generated surprise, particularly for Balvočius, who has primarily performed with male artists for many years. He admitted to double-checking the invitation to ensure he would indeed be paired with a female partner. "The most important thing will be not to let my male ego get the better of me," he remarked. Bulovaitė, who drives trucks on long-haul routes to Scandinavia, described receiving the invitation as a dream fulfilled. "I was driving a truck and received a call inviting me to participate in the project. I had to stop because I was in shock," she shared. "I used to watch this musical show with my mother and told her that one day I would participate." The pair recognizes that their demanding careers will present challenges. Bulovaitė's work often takes her to Scandinavia, while Balvočius remains in Lithuania. However, they are determined to overcome the distance. Bulovaitė revealed she practices singing daily during her nine-hour shifts, finding it a form of meditation. Balvočius is also prepared to travel abroad to rehearse with her, joking that he could be her "navigator" during the trip. The new season of "Žvaigždžių duetai. Nauja era" is set to premiere on LNK television in September.
