Donatas Dubauskas, known for unique style and custom bikes, laid to rest

Donatas Dubauskas, a notable figure recognized for his unique personal style and his craft of creating custom bicycles, has died. His passing was marked by a farewell ceremony and funeral service held at the Sudervės cemetery.

Family and friends gathered at a funeral home in Antakalnis to pay their respects and bid farewell to Dubauskas. White flowers adorned the gathering, and a moment of silence was observed during the ceremony.

Dubauskas was described as a vibrant personality, often sought after by Vilnius photographers for his distinctive look. He once shared his philosophy on life, stating, "No one taught me this approach to life, it didn't influence me, I don't have any painful or inappropriate experiences, nor do I have any role models to follow; I am my own role model. I have always lived my life and never thought that I looked or acted differently. Others told me I was different. But I am who I am. My wife Greta is the same, exceptional together. We want to live freely. We are the kind of people who can afford to look the way we want every day. Other people's opinions are not important to us because we agree with our own opinion, so we don't need approval, advice, or instructions on how we should live. A gray mass life is not our choice."

Beyond his personal style, Dubauskas was also known for fabricating unique bicycles. While his creations had not yet gained significant traction in Lithuania, he found a market internationally, with customers in countries like Switzerland, France, and Germany. He observed that people in these countries, while appearing ordinary, often possessed a greater sense of freedom in their thinking compared to the more conservative Lithuanians, for whom the opinions of neighbors remain important.
