Dong Ha police bust drug ring, arrest 8 suspects

Authorities in Dong Ha ward, Quang Tri province, Vietnam, have successfully dismantled a significant drug ring involved in the illegal purchase, sale, and possession of narcotics. The operation led to the arrest of eight suspects and the seizure of thousands of synthetic drug pills.

The breakthrough came on July 28 during routine patrols when law enforcement officers identified individuals exhibiting suspicious behavior. Subsequent investigations and evidence gathering culminated in the urgent search of a residence belonging to D.T.B.N., a 36-year-old resident of Dong Ha ward. During the search, authorities discovered 2,200 synthetic drug pills and other related evidence, identifying N. as a key figure in the drug operation.

Further investigation prompted two other suspects, N.V.L., 38, from Lao Bao commune, and H.Đ.H., from Dong Giang 2 neighborhood in Dong Ha ward, to surrender to the authorities. They confessed to their involvement in the illegal activities.

To date, police have identified eight individuals connected to the drug ring. Three suspects are accused of illegal drug trafficking, while the remaining five are charged with illegal drug possession. The Dong Ha ward police are continuing their investigation to fully understand and process the case according to legal regulations.
