Dong Nai launches first electric bus route

Dong Nai city has officially launched its first electric bus route, marking a step towards greener transportation. The new Route 9 connects Bien Hoa Bus Station with Doc Mo 3, covering a significant 57.5 km stretch through major city roads.

Hai Thanh Dat Co. Ltd. operates the service using modern VinFast electric buses, each accommodating around 30 passengers. These vehicles are equipped with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, automated stop announcements, and electronic ticketing systems to enhance passenger experience. The route operates with a frequency of 30 minutes during peak hours and 60 minutes during off-peak hours, with a total of 40 trips daily.

Fares are structured based on distance, ranging from 8,000 VND for trips under 7 km to 40,000 VND for distances of 40 km or more. The service also offers free travel for individuals with revolutionary merits, people with disabilities, those aged 70 and above, and children under six. Students and those purchasing monthly or group passes receive discounts.

Nguyen Anh Tuan, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Construction, urged the operating company to strictly adhere to transport regulations. He also highlighted plans to introduce nearly 90 more electric buses as part of a special emulation campaign and to establish a bus route connecting to the future Long Thanh International Airport.
