Dong Nai Provincial Leader Reminds Subordinate Units to Pay Electricity Bills

Dong Nai province is taking a firm stance against overdue electricity payments from state-funded organizations. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has issued a directive mandating the complete settlement of all accumulated electricity debts by April 30th. This decisive action aims to address a significant financial burden, with over 10.4 billion VND in outstanding payments from 2025 and early 2026.

The directive specifically targets agencies and units that are funded by the state budget. The Provincial People's Committee has instructed relevant departments, including the Department of Industry and Trade, to meticulously review the list of debtors provided by Dong Nai Power Company. Priority must be given to allocating funds or guiding subordinate units to finalize payment procedures to clear these debts entirely.

The heads of these agencies must be directly responsible if power supply is interrupted due to delays in procedures leading to prolonged debt.

Furthermore, the provincial leadership is emphasizing accountability. Heads of agencies with substantial debts exceeding six months overdue will be held directly responsible if power supply is interrupted due to their negligence. Non-compliance without valid objective reasons will lead to the head of the unit being assessed negatively in their annual performance review by the Department of Home Affairs. This stringent approach underscores the provincial government's commitment to fiscal responsibility and efficient resource management.
