Indonesia's economic strategy prioritizing downstream investment is yielding significant results, as evidenced by its substantial contribution to the national investment realization in the first quarter of 2026. This focus on adding value to raw materials is proving to be a cornerstone of the nation's economic growth.

Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani highlighted that downstream investments accounted for Rp147.5 trillion, nearly a third of the total national investment of Rp498.8 trillion. This figure represents a notable increase from the previous year, underscoring the growing importance of downstream sectors in attracting capital and driving economic activity.

The mining sector led the charge in downstream investment, followed by plantations, oil and gas, and fisheries.
