Dozens of Free Nutritious Meal Units Unoperational in Central Java, Deputy Governor Explains

Several Nutrition Service Fulfillment Units (SPPG) in Central Java are currently inactive, according to the province's Deputy Governor, Taj Yasin Maimoen. While the precise number of non-operational units remains unclear, Maimoen confirmed that some SPPGs are undergoing evaluation, while others have not yet received their allocated funds.

Maimoen, who also chairs the Central Java task force for the Free Nutritious Meals program, stated that these operational pauses are partly due to changes in leadership at the National Nutrition Agency. When questioned about the reasons for the SPPGs' inactivity, Maimoen acknowledged that it's not solely due to a lack of funds. "Some are also due to evaluation, not all are because the funds haven't been disbursed," he explained. He added that information regarding whether beneficiaries of the non-operational SPPGs are receiving meals from other units in their areas is still pending.
