Dr. José María Vargas Hospital reaches 87% completion in rehabilitation project

The rehabilitation project at Caracas’ Dr. José María Vargas Hospital has reached 87% completion, according to a progress report from Venezuela’s Sectoral Vice Presidency for Public Works and Infrastructure.

Technical teams are focusing on modernizing the hospital’s piping systems to ensure uninterrupted water distribution throughout the facility. Work is also nearing completion in eight inpatient areas in the north section, while bathrooms in the south section are being renovated.

The infrastructure program includes refurbishing the auditorium, waterproofing upper roofs and putting seven elevators into operation. Authorities said work has already been completed in the intensive care unit and operating rooms, as well as in the blood bank, traumatology, physiotherapy and pediatrics departments.
