Drastic temperature change and rain expected in Uruguay this week

Uruguay's weather forecast indicates a drastic shift, with the first half of the week characterized by cold temperatures and good weather, followed by deteriorating conditions on Wednesday and Thursday. Improvements are expected by Friday and the weekend.

For Montevideo and the metropolitan area, Monday will start with clear skies and some clouds, turning overcast in the afternoon with low temperatures. The minimum temperature will be 6°C, reaching a maximum of 11°C. Tuesday will remain cloudy with overcast periods in the morning, and temperatures will drop further, accompanied by increased wind in the afternoon, with the minimum temperature falling to 5°C.

Wednesday is expected to bring overcast skies and frost in the morning, with rain anticipated in the afternoon and evening. The minimum temperature will be a mere 3°C. According to Inumet, temperatures will begin to rise progressively from Thursday, although there will be a high probability of rain. The minimum temperature will be 6°C, with a maximum of 11°C.

By Friday, the chance of precipitation is forecast to be zero, with a minimum temperature of 7°C and a rise in the maximum to 16°C. Saturday will also be rain-free in the capital, with temperatures ranging between 9°C and 17°C. On Sunday, the minimum temperature will increase to 13°C, while the maximum remains at 17°C, though there is a medium probability of rain.

Meteorologist Mario Bidegain noted that the country will experience good and cold weather from Monday until Wednesday evening. He predicted maximum temperatures of 11°C to 12°C for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Rain is expected to continue on Thursday and early Friday morning over the capital. For the upcoming weekend, Bidegain forecasts rising temperatures and good weather, with maximums reaching 15°C to 16°C. He also highlighted "sub-zero temperatures" (-2°C to 0°C) in the center and east of the country for Monday. Meteorologist Guillermo Ramis also anticipates a cold week, with rain and showers expected from Wednesday night through Friday and Saturday with an 85% probability.
