Dream Renewables launches solar support programme

Dream Renewables, a Ghanaian non-profit organization, has launched a Community Infrastructure Support Programme aimed at providing solar-powered infrastructure to underserved communities in the Ashanti Region. The initiative invites applications from various local institutions, including communities, schools, health facilities, and other local organizations, seeking renewable energy solutions to enhance access to essential services like healthcare, education, and water.

The program's core objective is to identify and support high-impact solar energy projects in rural and peri-urban areas. By addressing critical infrastructure gaps, Dream Renewables aims to foster sustainable development and improve the quality of life for residents. Eligible projects encompass a range of applications, such as installing solar power systems for Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds and other health facilities, as well as equipping schools and training centers with solar-powered ICT laboratories.

This initiative builds upon Dream Renewables' previous work across Ghana, which includes installing solar power systems for health facilities, establishing an ICT lab in the Volta Region, and implementing solar-powered water projects. These past interventions underscore the organization's commitment to improving lives through renewable energy.

The application process is designed to be transparent and structured, allowing communities and institutions to submit proposals based on their specific development needs. Applications will be evaluated based on community need, potential impact, the number of beneficiaries, sustainability, and project feasibility. This ensures that resources are directed towards projects with the greatest potential for delivering meaningful and lasting benefits. Community leaders, traditional authorities, district assemblies, health directorates, educational institutions, and community-based organizations are all eligible to apply.

Applications are open until August 30, 2026, and can be submitted via an online portal. Dream Renewables focuses on promoting renewable energy solutions, climate action, and skills development, equipping young people with practical renewable energy expertise.
