Driver arrested in Abuja over alleged theft of employer’s car

A driver has been apprehended in Abuja for the alleged theft of his employer's vehicle, following a swift investigation by Ondo State police detectives. The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Adesola Ogunrotifa, was arrested after allegedly absconding with a Hyundai saloon car.

Acting on credible intelligence and deploying strategic investigative techniques, a team of detectives from B-Division, Akure, tracked the suspect to Abuja, where he was apprehended.

According to police sources, the incident occurred when Ogunrotifa dropped his employer, identified as Mrs. Remilekun, at the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke-Isegun, in Akure for a Sunday service. While Mrs. Remilekun was inside the church, the driver allegedly drove away with her car.

Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo State, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, said the suspect was arrested in Abuja and that the vehicle had been recovered.

Acting on a report filed by the vehicle owner, a team of detectives from B-Division, Akure, initiated a tracking operation. Utilizing credible intelligence and strategic investigative techniques, they successfully traced the suspect to Abuja, where he was apprehended. The stolen Hyundai saloon car was also recovered during the operation.
