Driver caught drunk twice in one night, loses license

A 50-year-old man in Mittelsachsen, Germany, faced serious legal consequences after being caught driving under the influence of alcohol on two separate occasions within a single evening. The repeated offenses led to the confiscation of his driver's license and multiple charges.

The incident began when the man's erratic driving caught the attention of a witness on Saturday. The witness followed the vehicle and alerted the police. Upon being stopped, an initial breathalyzer test revealed a blood alcohol content of 1.56 per mille. Consequently, the police confiscated his driver's license.

However, the man's disregard for the law did not end there. Just a few hours later, the same vehicle was reported to the police by witnesses, found stationary with its engine running at a junction of the B173 federal highway near Oberschöna. The 50-year-old driver was found in the driver's seat.

A subsequent alcohol test indicated his blood alcohol level had risen to two per mille. This second offense resulted in the man being charged twice for drunk driving and once for driving without a valid license. The police have initiated proceedings against him for these violations.
