Driver claims fire station was 'closed' after blocking emergency exit

When contacted by firefighters, the driver reportedly claimed they believed the fire station was not operating. "I thought the fire station was closed," the driver allegedly stated. This response drew sharp criticism from the firefighter who shared the incident on social media.

"Fire station garage doors should not be blocked, even when closed," the post read, pleading for an end to such incidents. The firefighter emphasized that such obstructions can severely hinder emergency response times.

Parking violations in front of fire stations carry significant consequences. Fire officials have the authority to remove or move obstructing vehicles during emergencies, and any damage incurred during such actions may not be compensable to the owner. Furthermore, areas within 5 meters of fire stations and other fire facilities are designated no-parking zones, with violations potentially leading to fines under traffic laws.
