Driver Flees Police, Crashes Into Taxis, Injuring Five

A man in his 50s is suspected of causing a serious accident that left five people injured after he allegedly fled from police and crashed into a taxi. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning in Bucheon.

According to police, the suspect was driving a passenger car when he allegedly spotted a police vehicle responding to a drunk driving report. Instead of stopping, he reportedly attempted to flee the scene. During his escape attempt, his vehicle collided with the side of a taxi that was proceeding through an intersection on a green light.

The impact was significant, causing the first taxi to then crash into another taxi in an adjacent lane. The driver of the suspect's vehicle, along with passengers and drivers from both taxis, sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment.

Police are currently investigating the driver for suspected drunk driving. He is receiving medical attention at the hospital, where authorities plan to conduct a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content. The results of this test will be crucial in confirming whether he was driving under the influence at the time of the incident.
