Driving culture is deteriorating beyond Lithuania, German study finds problems now emerging on its roads

Lithuania is not the only place where drivers are accused of becoming more aggressive. A study in Germany suggests that road culture is deteriorating there as well.

Some Lithuanian motorists describe the country’s roads as places where people are angry, hostile and constantly in a hurry. The complaints sometimes extend beyond rude behavior, including obscene gestures, arguments at intersections and even pushing or scuffles.

Western Europe is often viewed in Lithuania as an example of better driving standards. But the German findings challenge that assumption and ask what is happening on Germany’s roads.
