Drone Debris Washes Ashore in Olimp, Romania; Investigation Underway

Fragments believed to be from a drone washed ashore on a beach in the Romanian resort town of Olimp on Saturday. A tourist and lifeguards first spotted the object floating offshore before waves carried it to the coast.

Authorities promptly collected the debris found near the Steaua de Mare Hotel. The beach was not closed, and no other incidents were reported in the area. Officials have not yet officially determined the nature or origin of the object. The fragments will be analyzed to ascertain their identity and any connection to recent drone discoveries along the Romanian coast.

This event in Olimp adds to a series of alerts along the coast and in the Tulcea county on Friday. Drone debris was also found in Saturn, leading to a temporary beach evacuation, and a suspicious object was discovered on a beach in Costinești. Furthermore, two drones were reported in Tulcea county, with one near Plauru being neutralized through a controlled detonation on Saturday by a specialized team from the Ministry of National Defense.
