Drua, Force miss finals despite final-round win

The Western Force secured a 19-15 victory over the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua in their Super Rugby Pacific clash. Despite the win, neither team will feature in the competition's knockout stages. Kitione Salawa and Zuriel Togiatama scored first-half tries for the Drua, giving them a 12-7 lead at halftime. The Drua's only other points came from a second-half penalty. Zac Lomax scored the winning try for the Force with 12 minutes remaining, though the Force could not secure the bonus point they needed. The Force's finals hopes had already ended earlier in the day after the Reds defeated Moana Pasifika. However, the victory provided a milestone for veteran Kurtley Beale, who moved into third place for most Super Rugby appearances with 186 games. The Fijian Drua will play the Reds in their final round match next week. In other Super Rugby Pacific results, the Reds narrowly beat Moana Pasifika 33-31, and the Hurricanes defeated the Highlanders 45-28.
