Drug Lord Arrested During Liposuction Procedure in Jakarta Salon

In a bizarre turn of events, a notorious drug lord known as MR, or 'Bos Gendut' (Fat Boss), was apprehended by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) while undergoing a liposuction procedure at a beauty salon in Mangga Besar, West Jakarta. The arrest took place on Wednesday, August 12th, following an intensive surveillance operation targeting the suspect as he left Kampung Bahari, a notorious center for drug trafficking.

Video footage obtained during the operation showed 'Bos Gendut' lying on a bed in the salon, wearing a pink surgical gown, appearing helpless as officers apprehended him. He offered no resistance during the arrest. The BNN confirmed that MR is a key figure and a fugitive involved in a drug case dating back to November 7, 2025, operating as a kingpin in the Kampung Bahari area.

Brigadier General Roy Hardi Siahaan, Director of Enforcement and Pursuit at the BNN's Eradication Deputy, stated that 'Bos Gendut' is linked to the possession of approximately 98 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, firearms, and several gold bars. The agency has also expanded its investigation into alleged money laundering activities (TPPU) connected to the drug lord.

In relation to the money laundering charges, the BNN has seized cash amounting to Rp1.277 billion and other assets belonging to 'Bos Gendut' estimated to be worth Rp39.950 billion. The unusual circumstances of his arrest highlight the extent to which high-profile criminals may go to evade capture, even during personal cosmetic procedures.
