KPK Probes Wisma Atlet Units in Customs Corruption Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is delving into the alleged misuse of facilities at the Wisma Atlet athlete village in Pademangan, North Jakarta. This inquiry is part of a broader investigation into a corruption case implicating the Directorate General of Customs and Excise within the Ministry of Finance.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the investigation involves questioning an administrator of the Wisma Atlet facilities. This individual's testimony is crucial for understanding the rental or utilization of several units at the complex, which are believed to be connected to the ongoing customs corruption case. The KPK conducted the questioning on August 7, 2026.

Previously, the KPK apprehended several individuals in a sting operation at the customs office, leading to six people being declared suspects. These include Rizal, Director of Enforcement and Investigation at Customs and Excise (2024-January 2026) and currently Head of the West Sumatra Customs Regional Office, along with other officials and employees from Blueray Cargo, a company allegedly involved. The KPK has continued to expand the investigation, issuing new investigation orders and naming additional suspects, including Gatot Heroe Hernanda, Head of the Kediri Customs Office.
