Drugs and firearm seized in house fire; 10 suspects detained in Izmir

In a swift operation in the Limontepe neighborhood of Izmir, police have apprehended 10 individuals following a dramatic incident involving a home invasion, a fire, and the discovery of illicit substances. The Karabağlar District Police Department responded to an anonymous tip regarding a firearm being used in a home invasion. Upon arrival, officers encountered a house engulfed in flames. They immediately secured the scene, preventing seven suspects who were attempting to flee from escaping.

After the fire department extinguished the blaze, a thorough search of the premises, including an adjacent property, was conducted. The search yielded a significant haul: one unlicensed firearm, 2,926 doses of narcotic pills, three live cartridges, and one spent casing. These findings underscore the criminal nature of the activities taking place within the residence.

Further investigation by the police identified three additional individuals believed to be connected to the initial seven suspects. All ten individuals have been taken into custody and transported to the police headquarters for processing. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of Turkish law enforcement to combat organized crime and drug trafficking within the community.
