Drunk man steals van full of cookies in Osh, distributes them to passersby

Authorities in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, have apprehended a man suspected of stealing a van loaded with cookies and then distributing the confectionary to strangers. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of July 10, involved a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van parked in a residential area.

The suspect, identified by police as N.M., reportedly stole the vehicle around 5:30 AM. He told investigators that he was intoxicated at the time and took advantage of the van's unlocked door and the keys left inside. The van's cargo consisted of cookies valued at 94,000 som (approximately $1,070 USD).

He was drunk and took advantage of the fact that the car door was open and the key was inside.

Instead of absconding with the goods, the man began handing out the cookies to people on the street, telling them he was engaged in charitable acts. After distributing the entire load, he abandoned the vehicle on a street in the village of Kok-Jar in the Nookat district. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
