Dubai Police Initiatives Generate Over Dh647 Million in Social Impact

Dubai Police's community initiatives have yielded a substantial social return on investment, estimated at Dh647.9 million. A recent study, which assessed 80 programs implemented between 2017 and 2026, found these efforts significantly contributed to public safety, crime prevention, trust in police, and overall quality of life.

The initiatives reached approximately 3.8 million individuals, focusing on key areas such as education, health, public awareness, and sports. The study, conducted by Dubai Police's Future Foresight Centre, confirmed that these programs align with broader governmental objectives, including the Dubai Social Agenda 33, Dubai Economic Agenda D33, and We the UAE 2031.

Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, stated that the findings validate the leadership's support for community-focused programs. He emphasized that developing initiatives based on societal needs has proven effective, demonstrating positive social, security, and economic impacts. Al Marri described community initiatives as a crucial pillar for sustainable security, vital for building trust and enhancing safety perceptions.

The study detailed the impact across various domains: Dh542.7 million was linked to economic and community contributions, Dh5.7 million to accessibility and participation, Dh5 million to community wellbeing, Dh31.7 million to quality-of-life improvements, and Dh62.8 million to strengthening public trust and belonging. Researchers employed statistical models, including the Pearson Correlation Coefficient, to analyze the relationship between initiatives and indicators like happiness and safety. The analysis revealed a positive correlation of 0.44 with the Happiness Index and 0.45 with the Happiness, Security, and Awareness Index. Furthermore, a 0.44 positive correlation was observed with improved perceptions of safety, alongside a negative 0.41 correlation with concerning crime rates, suggesting that increased initiative activity corresponds with enhanced community wellbeing and reduced crime.
