Dubai Police Train School Security Guards on Traffic Safety

Dubai Police have conducted a series of training and awareness courses focused on traffic safety for over 140 security guards stationed at 35 schools across the emirate. These initiatives are designed to bolster the guards' preparedness and capacity to effectively manage traffic flow, thereby ensuring the safety and security of students within and around school premises.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, highlighted that these workshops signify the department's dedication to fostering collaborations with various institutions. He emphasized the importance of enhancing the readiness of security guard supervisors to address traffic-related issues they might encounter in their professional capacity.

Bin Suwaidan further explained that the training equipped participants with essential knowledge and skills for managing minor traffic accidents. The sessions covered common accident scenarios within school environments, the procedure for reporting accidents via the Dubai Police smart app, "We Are All Police," and familiarization with traffic signs and guidelines. Additionally, the training addressed traffic flow management during busy drop-off and pick-up times.

Participants also engaged in practical simulations of real-life traffic accidents. They received specific guidance on safely assisting students boarding and alighting buses to mitigate risks. The training concluded with instructions on providing initial, professional responses to traffic or security emergencies while awaiting the arrival of official emergency services.
