Duerksen scores one point in F2 Austrian GP feature race

Paraguayan driver Joshua Duerksen secured a single point in the FIA Formula 2 Austrian Grand Prix feature race, finishing tenth at the Red Bull Ring. The Invicta Racing driver started eleventh but gained two positions off the line. However, an early incident involving other drivers brought out the safety car, bunching up the field.

Following the restart on lap six, Duerksen advanced to eighth, then seventh, before pitting for new tires. He rejoined in 18th but steadily improved his position, reaching 13th by lap 17. He continued to climb, passing more cars and eventually reaching fifth place during a sequence of pit stops later in the race.

A late safety car period on lap 26 complicated matters. Duerksen defended his tenth position after the restart, but a frantic final few laps saw him lose positions while navigating traffic and avoiding potential collisions. He ultimately crossed the finish line in tenth, capping his weekend at the Austrian circuit.
