E-Scooter Accidents Leave Multiple Injured in Frankfurt

Frankfurt has seen a spate of serious accidents involving e-scooters, resulting in three individuals sustaining severe injuries since Friday afternoon. The incidents highlight ongoing safety concerns associated with the popular mode of transport.

One accident occurred in Sachsenhausen-Nord when a young e-scooter rider, traveling against the designated direction of traffic, collided with a car at an intersection. The rider was subsequently taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

In a separate incident in Ostend, a 38-year-old man lost control of his e-scooter while riding on a sidewalk, causing him to fall and sustain significant injuries. It remains unclear how long the man lay on the ground before a witness alerted the police during the night.

Further compounding the issue, an e-scooter rider in Nied allegedly caused an accident that left a 76-year-old cyclist with severe injuries. According to police reports, the e-scooter rider overtook the cyclist on a dirt path, reportedly making contact with the bicycle and causing the elderly man to fall. The e-scooter rider then fled the scene without stopping.
