E-scooter driver, teenager and passenger killed in three separate incidents on roads

Ireland's roads claimed three lives on Sunday in separate incidents across the country. The fatalities include an unidentified male e-scooter driver in County Meath, a teenage boy in County Tipperary, and a man in his 50s who was a passenger in County Clare.

The first incident occurred early Sunday morning in Navan, Co. Meath, where an e-scooter collided with a car on the Kentstown Road. The e-scooter driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, and his passenger, a man in his 20s, were unharmed. Gardaí have closed the road for technical examination and are seeking witnesses who were in the area between 1am and 1:45am, asking for any available digital recordings.

Later, a male teenager died in a single-vehicle crash on the L4101 at Lanespark, Ballynonty, Co. Tipperary. He was also pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to Waterford University Hospital for a postmortem examination. The coroner has been notified, and the road was closed for Garda technical staff.

In the third incident, a male passenger in his 50s died following a single-vehicle collision on the R446 at Gortnaglogh, Broadford, Co. Clare, around 5:30pm. The driver of the car, also in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick. The road remained closed for examination, and the coroner has been notified. A postmortem will be conducted at the hospital. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to all three incidents and have provided contact numbers for local stations and the Garda Confidential Line.
