Two dead in separate road collisions in Ireland

Two fatal road collisions occurred in Ireland early Sunday morning, claiming the lives of an e-scooter user in Co Meath and a man in his late teens in Co Tipperary.

The Meath incident involved a collision between an e-scooter and a car on the Kentstown Road in Navan around 1:45 a.m. The e-scooter driver, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupants of the car, a man in his 60s and a passenger in his 20s, were unharmed. The road remained closed for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with diversions in place.

In Tipperary, a separate fatal crash occurred on the L4101 at Lanespark, Ballynonty, Thurles, around 3:45 a.m. The driver of the car, a man in his late teens, also died at the scene. His body was transported to Waterford University Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The coroner has been notified, and the road was closed for forensic investigation.

Gardaí are appealing for information in both cases. They are particularly interested in any road users who were in the vicinity of the Meath collision between 1:00 a.m. and 1:45 a.m., or the Tipperary crash between 3:00 a.m. and 3:45 a.m., who might have relevant camera footage.
