E-scooter rider dies following crash in Galway

A man in his 40s has died after being involved in an e-scooter crash in Galway on Friday evening. The incident, which involved a single vehicle, took place around 8:30 p.m. on the R336 road near the former Spinnaker House hotel in the Salthill area.

The rider of the e-scooter sustained serious injuries and was transported to University Hospital Galway for treatment. Tragically, he passed away from his injuries. Gardaí, the Irish police force, have conducted an examination of the crash scene with the assistance of their technical staff.

Authorities are now issuing a fresh appeal for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen the crash or who was traveling on the R336 between 8:15 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10th. Road users who possess any relevant camera footage from the area during that time are urged to make it available to the Gardaí.
