E45 Motorway Near Horsens to Close Saturday for Bridge Demolition

The E45 East Jutland Motorway will face a significant closure between Hedensted and Horsens C, starting Saturday at 3:00 PM and lasting until Sunday at 9:00 AM. This closure is essential for the demolition of an old motorway bridge located on Vestvejen.

The Danish Road Directorate is urging all travelers to plan their routes carefully and allow extra time for their journeys. They anticipate heavy traffic not only on the E45 itself but also on the designated detour routes. Based on previous closures for this project, the initial hours are expected to be the most congested.

"We know from previous closures in connection with the project that the first few hours are typically the most affected," stated John Kjærsgaard, project manager at the Road Directorate, in a press release. "If you can wait to travel until Sunday, or can make your trip late Saturday evening, you will experience a significantly shorter travel time."

Local drivers are also advised to avoid the detour route if possible to help ease congestion. The Road Directorate recommends that motorists aim to travel either before 3:00 PM or after 8:00 PM on Saturday to minimize potential delays.
